Public Symposium Back Up

A two-day public symposium devoted to Babyn Yar/Babi Yar as a signal event in the Holocaust; as a killing site of Jews, ethnic Ukrainians, and other peoples of Ukraine; and as a symbol of humankind’s inhumanity brought to its nadir during World War II. A multi-authored book dealing with various aspects of Babyn Yar will be prepared under editorship of Vladyslav Hrynevych and Paul Robert Magocsi launched on the opening day of symposium. The book’s editors and some of its authors will be present to discuss their work with the public. The symposium will be held in cooperation with the Institute of History, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv.
